Billy Napier Praises Miami Roster, Discusses Relationship with Mario Cristobal

Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier had high praise for the Miami Hurricanes roster and discussed his relationship with Miami head coach Mario Cristobal in a recent interview.

Napier, who was an assistant coach at Alabama under Cristobal from 2013-2016, said he has a lot of respect for Cristobal and the job he's done at Miami.

"Mario is a great coach," Napier said. "He's a winner, and he knows how to get the most out of his players. I'm not surprised that he's having success at Miami."

Napier also praised the Miami roster, saying that they have a lot of talent.

"Miami has a lot of good players," Napier said. "They're big, they're fast, and they're athletic. They're a well-coached team, and they're going to be a tough opponent for us."

The Gators and Hurricanes are scheduled to meet in the season opener on September 4th in Gainesville.

Napier's Relationship with Cristobal

Napier and Cristobal have a long history together, dating back to their days at Alabama.

Napier was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Alabama from 2013-2016, while Cristobal was the offensive line coach.

The two coaches were part of a staff that won three national championships together in 2013, 2015, and 2016.

Napier said that he learned a lot from Cristobal during their time together at Alabama.

"Mario is a great coach," Napier said. "He's a great teacher, and he's a great motivator. I learned a lot from him during my time at Alabama."

Napier also said that he considers Cristobal to be a friend.

"Mario is a good friend of mine," Napier said. "I have a lot of respect for him, and I'm always rooting for him to succeed."
